PARIS, Nov 12 (Hina) - The flag with a star of the former Socialist Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) was hoisted together with the flags of the
U.S.A., Great Britain, Belgium and other countries in front of the
Triumphant Arch of Victory in Paris on Thursday on the occasion of the 75th
anniversary of the cessation of hostilities, signed at the end of the First
World War.
The Croatian Ambassador to France, Branko Salaj, who was present at the
ceremony of the celebration of that anniversary, was unpleasantly surprised
at hoisting the flag of the state that had existed no more, and the flag
under which the aggression against the Republic of Croatia had been
launched. The Croatian Ambassador would request the explanation from the
French Ministry of the Weterans, which had organized this ceremony.
