HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO RESUME DISCUSSION ON FOREIGN POLICY TOMORROW

ZAGREB, Nov 11 (Hina) - The House of Representatives of the Croatian Parliament will continue discussion on the Government report on the implementation of foreign policy tomorrow morning after a meeting of the deputies of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mate Granic, answered certain questions and remarks concerning the Croatian foreign policy. He said that the Republic of Croatia had always taken active part in all peace initiatives, and that efforts were made at promoting the Croatian President's peace initiative. He stressed that response to the President's peace initiative were positive, noting that France and Germany put forward an almost identical proposal for the resolution of the crisis in Bosnia- Herzegovina. Speaking of Croatian strategic interests, Minister Granic laid particular emphasis on the development of Croatia as a free, democratic and European state, and respect for all human rights, liberties and minority rights. He pointed out that the chief objective of the Croatian policy towards Bosnia-Herzegovina was the end of conflicts between the Croats and Moslems, the resumption of negotiations, delivery of relief aid and consistent demands for the punishment of all war criminals. He said that those would be the topics on the agenda at a meeting in Sarajevo tomorrow. 112213 MET nov 93
