SLAVONSKI BROD, Nov 9 (Hina) - "No formations of the Croatian Defence
Council (HVO) can any longer be present in the Slavonski Brod County
(eastern Croatia) and do things, without the knowledge of civil and
military authorities, like those on the night of 5 November, when,
allegedly, a larger group of members of the 101st and 102nd brigades of the
HVO crossed the River Sava into Bosnia. In retaliation, Serb paramilitary
forces stationed on the other bank ruthlessly started shelling villages in
the eastern part of the Slavonski Brod County, Croatia," said head of the
County Jozo Meter at a meeting of the County authorities on Tuesday.
The meeting decided that a thorough investigation be conducted into what
had actually happened, and that military and police control should be
stepped up.
