ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The assistant to the Foreign Minister and
coordinator of the implementation of the UN resolution on
international aid in reconstruction and development of the
Republic of Croatia, Andjelko Simic, received in a farewell visit
on Thursday Paul Walter Bouda, representative of the UNHCS
HABITAT, a specialized UN agency dealing with housing problems,
said a statement issued by the Information Department of the
Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Croatia.
From 18 October to 4 November 1993, Mr Bouda visited the
municipalities of Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Osijek and Vinkovci to
assess the degree of damage and war destruction of housing units,
villages and towns, in keeping with the implementation of UN
Resolution 47/166 on international assistance in reconstruction
and development of the Republic of Croatia.
The UNHCS HABITAT is ready to offer experts, organize meetings
and seminars and offer assistance in obtaining credits from
international financial institutions.
Mr Simic pointed out that the international community should
without delay start with the programme of the reconstruction of
the Croatian economy.
