ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The Zagreb Military Court on Thursday
acquitted Dobroslav Paraga, Ante Djapic and Mile Dedakovic of a
charge of attempting a forcible change of the constitutional
order. Dobroslav Paraga and Ante Djapic, deputies of the
Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) to Parliament, were also acquitted
of a charge of preparing terrorist acts.
Judge Damir Kos said that it was not proved that the armed
formations of the Croatian Liberation Forces (HOS) had been
organized on the orders of the accused in order to topple the
constitutional order of the Republic of Croatia. According to
witnesses, it was evident that the formations sprung up mostly
spontaneously to defend Croatia, said Judge Kos and added that
commanders of certain Croatian Army units had stated that the HOS
formations were under the command of the Croatian Army.
