SPLIT, Jan 9
(Hina) - Retired Catholic priest Ivan Grubisic, who was
elected to Parliament in the December 4 election and whose right to
hear confessions, deliver sermons, celebrate the Eucharist and wear
priestly robes was recently suspended by Split-Makarska Archbishop
Marin Barisic, has said that the reason for his suspension is his
advocacy of the need to re-examine treaties between the Croatian state
and the Vatican and abolish all privileged pensions.
