ZAGREB, Dec 2 (Hina) - Head of the Croatian Government delegation
for talks with representatives of Serbs from occupied Croatian
areas (UNPAs), Hrvoje Sarinic, signed an economic agreement at the
UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) headquarters in Zagreb at about
9.00hrs this morning.
The economic agreement between the Croatian Government and
representatives of Serbs from UNPAs will be delivered to Knin where
Borislav Mikelic should sign it at 13.00hrs on behalf of the Serb
side.
The agreement deals with issues on water supplies,
electricity, opening the Zagreb-Belgrade motorway and the Adriatic
pipe-line.
Immediately after the signing Sarinic said the agreement
"protected all vital interests of the Republic of Croatia" and that
"it did not endanger in any way the Croatian sovereignty in the
occupied areas".
The agreement was also signed by the International Conference
on the Former Yugoslavia (ICFY) Co-Chairmen, David Owen and
Thorvald Stoltenberg, U.N. Commander General Pierre Peeters,
European Union Monitor Mission Chief in the former Yugoslavia
Joachim-Paul von Stuelpnagel, and U.S. and Russian ambassadors to
Croatia Peter Galbraith and Leonid Kerestedziyanc.
