TOMISLAVGRAD, Nov 15 (Hina) - The operative wing of joint Bosnian
army and Croatian Defence Council (HVO) headquarters will move from
Sarajevo, to an as yet undecided central-Bosnian town, by the end
of the month, HVO Chief-of-Staff, Gen. Tihomir Blaskic, told a news
conference today.
The decision came at a top-level HVO-B-H army meeting in
Kresevo, which involved Gens. Blaskic and Rasim Delic.
But the command of the joint headquarters, led by Gens. Ante
Roso and Fikret Muslimovic, would remain in Sarajevo, Blaskic said.
Blaskic called for a NATO-style alliance between the HVO and
the Bosnian army, but he rejected a unified command.
Ignjac Kostroman, senior Herzeg-Bosnian defence ministry
official, said that the "HVO and the Bosnian army would together
liberate parts of Bosnia-Herzegovina where their interests
coincided" if the Serbs rejected a political settlement.
Asked whether the two armies would liberate Jajce next
(central-Bosnian town occupied in the fall of 1992 after several
months of resistance), Gen. Blaskic said the liberation of the
Kupres Plateau was "the first step towards liberating Jajce."
