GOSPIC, Nov 1 (Hina) - Milan Srnjak, a displaced Croat from Canak,
was yesterday killed while visiting a cemetery in the village of
Canak near Gospic. He was shot by a bullet, the Croatian police in
Gospic said in a statement today.
The cemetery is located on a strip of no-man's-land near the
disengagement line between the Croatian army and Serb rebels.
Srnjak and several friends of his visited his family's graves
on his own initiative.
A severe protest was lodged with UN Protection Force
(UNPROFOR) due to the incident, the Gospic police reported.
