SARAJEVO, Oct 5 (Hina) - UN military spokesman, Major Koos Sol,
today said in Sarajevo that two-day fierce fighting on Mount
Cemerno, 50 km N. of Sarajevo, had stopped, and UN observers
reported that a total of 73 artillery shells had been fired in the
area yesterday.
In western Bosnia, near the village of Otoka and Grabez Plato,
29 shells were fired, while it was calm in other parts of Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
According to Sol, Serbs yesterday allowed the passage of 10
convoys carrying provisions for UNPROFOR troops on the ground, but
they did not give clearance for the passage of 10 convoys with
fuel.
Serbs said from today they would allow the transport of only
20 percent of fuel, out from the quantity of fuel requested by
UNPROFOR.
UNHCR spokesman in Sarajevo, Kris Janowski, today said that
two UNHCR convoys had arrived yesterday in Gorazde, a Moslem
enclave in eastern Bosnia, from Belgrade.
A convoy which should have delivered foodstuffs from Metkovic
(Croatia) to Sarajevo was canceled because Serbs did not allow the
passage of the convoy.
UN spokeswoman in Sarajevo, Claire Grimes, announced that
about 300 Bosnian and Serb detainees should be exchanged today at
Sarajevo's Brotherhood and Unity Bridge. The exchange of war
prisoners will be carried out if the first group of wounded people
from Gorazde arrives in Sarajevo.
