A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON WEDNESDAY, OCT 5

ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK carries a report on yesterday's session of the Croatian Parliament's House of Representatives headlined "Parliament requests for debate on Security Council resolution". The paper stresses that Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic said, after his return from New York, that the Contact Group's task to propose a plan on the full reintegration of the Croatian occupied areas was of great importance. Vjesnik brings a commentary by Stjepo Martinovic in connection with easing of sanctions against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro). "Croatian villages belong to Slovenia?!", says the title of an article in today's VECERNJI LIST, commenting on the Slovene Parliament's decision on the annexation of four Croatian bordering villages. Reporting on trade unions' preparations for a visit of Prime Minister Nikica Valentic, the paper writes that trade unions' members have been more concerned about the announced dismissals, than about wage limitations. Vecernji List brings an interview with member of the Bosnian Presidency and chairman of the Serb civil council, Mirko Pejanovic. He says that besides diplomatic measures, the Contact Group should also undertake military measures against Serbs. (hina) mm ks 051149 MET oct 94
