ZAGREB, Oct 4 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak
today held talks in Zagreb with a delegation of the International
Tribunal for War Crimes in Former Yugoslavia, led by Prosecutor
Richard Goldstone.
Zagreb is the first destination in the delegation's journey to
countries in former Yugoslavia. The International Tribunal for War
Crimes representatives will visit Belgrade and Sarajevo to
establish cooperation with the Serbian and Bosnian authorities and
to get information on serious violations of human rights in those
countries.
"We have agreed on ways for cooperation with the Office of the
Hague Tribunal Prosecutor at today's talks," Jarnjak said.
He said that Croatia Interior Ministry had already formed a
department for war crimes and gathered much information on this
matter. Some pieces of the gathered documentation would be
available to the Hague Tribunal.
Croatia should appoint its liaison officer for the Tribunal on
War Crimes, according to today's talks.
"We have warned that those who would investigate cases of war
crimes should bear in mind who is the aggressor and who is the
victim, Jarnjak said.
The Hague Tribunal delegation is to hold talks with Croatian
Minister of Justice Ivica Crnic and Head of Supreme Court Milan
Vukovic, who is also the head of the Croatian Government commission
on war crimes. The delegation is to be received by Croatian Deputy
Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic and Foreign Ministry officials.
