ZAGREB, Sep 4 (Hina) - "A visit of Pope John Paul II to the
Republic of Croatia is a strong support to Croatia's independence
and sovereignty...," head of the Islamic community for Croatia and
Slovenija Sevko Omerbasic told yesterday's Croatian TV show.
He said that Holy Father's visit was one of the greatest
events for the Catholic Church and that Moslems expressed welcome
to the Pope.
Omerbasic stressed that the visit was also a strong support to
a dialogue between religious communities.
The head of Islamic community said that representatives of the
community would meet with the Pope.
Holy Father is known in the world as the man of peace and he
is well aware about the perpetrator and the victim of the
aggression in the region, said Omerbasic adding that both Croat
Catholics and Moslems respect the Pope and admire him.
