FIGHTING BREAKS OUT BETWEEN SOLDIERS OF BOSNIAN ARMY'S 5TH CORPS I

I $ N BIHAC ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - Fighting between soldiers of the 5th corps of Bosnian army broke out on Friday in the city of Bihac and its surrounding (western Bosnia), after some troops went over to the forces loyal to Fikret Abdic, a spokesman for U.N. Protection Force, Michael Williams, told today's press conference in Zagreb. "Fierce fighting was raging not only between the Bosnian army 5th corps and forces loyal to Fikret Abdic, but also among the soldiers of the 5th corps, some of whom went over to the troops loyal to Abdic," said Williams relying the information on a report of the U.N. peacekeepers in Bihac. He added that the severest battles were led in the very centre of Bihac. The 5th corps troops were still encircling the French UNPROFOR battalion as well as the U.N. and the European Union (EU) observers hindering freedoms of their movements.
