SPLIT, July 5 (Hina) - County-Prefect of Split-Dalmatia, Kruno
Peronja with his assistants, received today in Split a delegation
of Swiss Foreign Ministry's agency for aid in disaster.
The head of the delegation, Hans Wittwer, informed Croatian
hosts of reaching an agreement with the municipality of Hrvace (in
the Split hinterland) on the reconstruction and repairs on the
primary school and 53 houses. The agreement is about the aid worth
of 2,350,000 German marks.
The Swiss agency has been sending aid to Croatia since the
outbreak of the war. Now it is planning to help in the
reconstruction of war-damaged houses and buildings. Wittwer
stressed that the agency would draw up the plan on reconstruction
and redecoration of houses in Potravlje, and by the end of the year
it would make plans for reconstruction of war-stricken villages,
building of schools and homes for aged and retired and institutions
for handicapped children in the areas of Dubrovnik, Sibenik, Zadar
and Biograd (southern Croatia).
Hans Wittwer also said that the Swiss government would
advocate the international factors' stronger and more effective
support to Croatia in its intentions to return displaced persons
peacefully to their homes from where they were exiled by Serb
forces more than three years ago.
