A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON FRIDAY

ZAGREB, July 1 (Hina) - In coverage of yesterday's Government session, VJESNIK quotes Deputy Prime Minister Skegro as saying that this year's inflation rate would be one of the lowest in Europe. The paper carries an interview with Member of Parliament Sime Dodan. "To the best of my knowledge, UNPROFOR has been aiding and abetting the Chetniks. This is why I believe that we are going to give notice to the UN forces at the next Parliament session, if there is no change if their mandate," said Dodan. The editorial by Aleksandar Milosevic focuses on possible developments in Croatia after the expiry of the UNPROFOR mandate on September 30. Here are some highlights: "It is quite clear that the UN peacekeepers in Croatia have failed to implement even one of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. The consequences of UNPROFOR's inefficiency are catastrophic. (...) "The occupied areas are being integrated into the monetary, school, transpoort and military systems of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The ethnic cleansing of the occupied areas is continued. According to data that are availabe also to UNPROFOR, tens of thousands of Croats and other non-Serbs have been expelled from the occupied areas in the past two years. The property of the evicted has been vandalised. Attacks on the free parts of Croatia are very often launched from the occupied territories. Besides, rebel Serbs are despoiled Croatian natural resources such as oil wells and forests under UNPROFOR's very noses. All the looted goods end up in Yugoslav factories. (...) "If we are given no grounds for hope that the UN Forces intend to change their modus operandi in Croatia, the Croatian Parliament might reach a mandatory decision to give notice to UNPROFOR as of September 30. The June 16 session of the Croatian Parliament might be really portentous. (...) "Croatian President Tudjman is expected to address the UN General Assembly in September. President Tudjman's address to the highest instance of the world organisation might be the last attempt to solve the crisis in Croatia by peaceful means." VECERNJI LIST today brings an exclusive interview with Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, headlined "Valentic, Granic, Susak, Greguric and I can win any election." The paper also covers the Government session and refugee protests against UNPROFOR's inefficiency. 011247 MET jul 94
