SARAJEVO, June 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Tuesday officially opened the Croatian embassy in Sarajevo. The
opening ceremony was attended by a number of citizens of Sarajevo.
"Opening an embassy anywhere in the world is an important
event for independent and sovereign Croatia. Here in Sarajevo and
now, it means that we persevere in implementing the Washington
Agreements on Bosniac-Croat Federation and its confederation with
Croatia. It proves that we are following the policy that enabled
the Croatian people in Bosnia-Herzegovina to save their homes,"
President Tudjman told the gathering. "The way is now paved for
putting an end to the war, the tragedy and the aggression on
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sarajevo. We have coordinated our policy
with the policy of those countries that aim to create a new order
in this part of Europe," said President Tudjman.
"I am convinced that the tragedy of Croats and Moslems in
Bosnia-Herzegovina is drawing to its end. Now we can reap the
fruits of the durable friendship between Bosnia-Herzegovina and
Croatia. We have proven that we belong to those who seek the paths
of peace and cooperation, not war," President Tudjman concluded.
