TALKS BETWEEN SLOVENE PRESIDENT AND CROATIAN PREMIER

ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - During his visit to Croatia Slovene President Milan Kucan held today afternoon in Zagreb talks with the Croatian Government's delegation, led by Premier Nikica Valentic. Slovene President and Croatian Premier discussed the open issues of borders, especially in the Bay of Piran, the work of the joint nuclear-plant "Krsko". the construction of the Pyhrinska highway, the debt of the Ljubljana Bank and difficulties in the resettlement and moving of the refugees from the resort centre "Pineta" in the Slovene ownership on the territory of Croatia. They pointed out that the solutions to those problems in the Croatian-Slovene relations would be the prerequisites for Europe's acceptance of the two countries as its part. Slovene President Kucan was today received also by the Zagreb Cardinal, Msgr. Franjo Kuharic. Upon their meeting they said that their talks had concentrated on a solution to the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina and on a settlement to the disengagement between the two Dioceses, dependent on the solution to establishing borders between Slovenia and Croatia. Upon his meeting with Cardinal Kuharic President Kucan held short talks with bishops from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Archbishop Vinko Puljic and Bishops Franjo Komarica and Ratko Peric, who were at the moment participating in the fourth congress of the Croatian Bishops Conference, held in Zagreb. 072005 MET jun 94
