ROADS IN CENTRAL BOSNIA STILL BLOCKADED

VITEZ, June 2 (Hina) - The road between the towns of Vitez and Busovaca (Central Bosnia) is still being blockaded near the village of Nadioci. The road obstacles were set up there on Wednesday night, while another road from Vitez toward Travnik and Novi Travnik in the Lasva valley was also blocked up today, so that traffic is being hindered or running with difficulty toward the area of Tuzla (northeastern Bosnia) and northern Bosnia. That is because no results have been yielded by negotiations between military and civilian authorities of Vitez and those who had set up blockades on the roads. Those who have raised the blockade on the roads are soldiers of the unit of the Vitez Croatian Defence Council (HVO) who are requiring to get their regular wages still unpaid, and they are demanding better care of the authorities for families whose members died or were wounded in the war and for disabled veterans of the liberation war. Dario Kordic, deputy chairman of the Parliament of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna (HR HB) told journalist today that the Bosniac side had already started to redirect convoys for Zenica, Zepce, Usora and Tuzla to drive on roundabout roads via Travnik and Guca Gora, and banned the traffic between Novi Travnik and Gornji Vakuf. All shops and pubs closed down in the town of Vitez on Thursday afternoon, and an unusually small number of citizens were seen in the streets. 021920 MET jun 94
