WREATHS LAID AT MONUMENT TO CROATIAN WW2 VICTIMS IN AUSTRIA

BLEIBURG, MAY 15 (Hina) - Partic=ipants in the second international symposium on "Bleiburg and Way of the Cross" gathered in Bleiburg, Austria, on Sunday to mark an event which had happened 49 year ago, when British troops repatriated a large number of military and civilian fugitives from Yugoslavia, most of them Croats. The event marked the beginning of systematic killing by Yugoslav partisans contrary to all international conventions and international law. The Bleiburg event were suppressed during the Yugoslav communist regime to be brought up for discussion in the early 90's. The wreath-laying ceremony at a monument to Croatian victims was attended by Croatian Ambassador to Austria Milan Ramljak. 151629 MET may 94
