ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The Croatian government appointed Mirko
Galic a director of Croatian Television at a meeting on Thursday,
the government public relations office said in a statement.
Under the Croatian Radio and Television Act, directors of
various departments of Croatian Television are appointed and
relieved of duty by the Government at the proposal of the director
general of the Croatian Radio and Television company.
The Government decided to relieve Jerko Vukov of duty.
Mirko Galic, 49, has worked as a reporter for the Vjesnik
newspaper house since 1968. From 1985 to 1988 he was the editor-in-
chief of the political weekly Danas, and from late 1988 until the
present day he has worked as a correspondent for the Vjesnik and
Vecernji List dailies from Paris, the statement said.
