ZAGREB, May 4 (Hina) - Croatian President Tudjman on Wednesday
received the future administrator of Mostar, German diplomat Hans
Koschnik, who was appointed by the European Union to govern that
city as of June 1994.
"We hope to promote understanding between the two sides," said
Koschnik, noting that it was a difficult task. "People may have
high expectations from the European administration. They may expect
us to bring money," he said.
Koschnik announced he was going to visit Sarajevo and Mostar
next week. He said Croatian and Moslem forces had to withdraw from
Mostar before the new administration took over, which could be in
early June or late May. "Now that President Tudjman has agreed to
the EU project for Mostar, we need confirmation from Sarajevo and
Mostar," Koschnik concluded.
