ZAGREB, April 7 (Hina) - Croatian radio quoted a Zagreb Police
Department spokesman as saying that a series of gundpowder
explosions happened in an ammuntion storage area in Zagreb's suburb
of Sesvete shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday.
The spokesman said "the situation is under control, explosions
haven's stopped yet and at the moment it's impossible to say when
they will stop."
The area has been put on general alert and local residents
called to stay in shelters. Traffic through Sesvete has been
suspended.
The radio carried a warning that the fire threatened to spread
to other facilities close to the warehouse.
