ZADAR, April 5 (Hina) - Officials of the UN Protection Force
(UNPROFOR) in Sector South, spokesman Alan Roberts, deputy civil
affairs chief Abdalla Mahgoub and chief military observer Harry
Smith told a press conference in the Adriatic port of Zadar on
Tuesday they were optimistic about the implementation of a March 30
cease-fire agreement.
Mahgoub, who had just returned from Knin, said the streets of
Knin were full of people in uniforms who had returned from the
front.
Officials said the ceasefire was observed today, while
yesterday minor armed provocations were recorded on both sides.
Speaking of normalization of the economic situation, also
envisaged by the agreement, Mahgoub said water supply to Zadar was
the first item on UNPROFOR's list of issues to be solved.
