PORTOROZ, Feb 16 (Hina) - An American military aircraft had to
"forcefully land" near Portoroz (Slovenian resort on Istrian coast
near Croatian-Slovenian border) today at 10:25 hrs, the Slovenian
Ministry of Interior informed.
The aircraft was damaged, the pilot rescued.
Slovenian Radio, quoting statements by eyewitnesses, stated
that prior to the landing two aircraft had been overflying the area
in low flights but that it was not known how the planes entered the
Slovenian airspace.
The Ministry said they sent a commission to the spot, and that
the forceful landing would be investigated by the officials of the
American Army NATO Base in Aviano (Italy).
