ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - At the invitation of the Council of Europe,
Croatian Health Minister Dr Andrija Hebrang and head of the
Government Commission for Narcotics Dr Slavko Sakoman attended a
ministerial conference on narcotics in Strasbourg on 3-5 February.
At the plenary session Minister Hebrang spoke of the reasons
for the increase in drug abuse in Croatia, one of them being the
three-year occupation of part of the country which resulted in
some regions (Dalmatia) and many traffic routes being cut off.
The Health Ministry said in a statement Monday that in the
Council of Europe's Health Department Croatia had the same rights
as the Council's full members.
