RUMOURS ON RESIGNATION OF STJEPAN MESIC DENIED

ZAGREB, Jan 15 (Hina) - A session of the presidency of the leading Croatian party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), was held last evening in Zagreb under the chairmanship of its president, Dr. Franjo Tudjman, reported the presidency on Saturday. All the members of the presidency expressed their unanimous support to the policy conducted by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Franjo Tudjman, According to the HDZ presidency's statement, all rumours in media on dismissal of some of the senior state officials were denied. Its statement also said that information on resignation of Stjepan Mesic, the chairman of the Croatian Parliament, Josip Manolic, the chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Chamber of Counties, and Gojko Susak, the Croatian Defence Minister, was false. The presidency of the HDZ was informed that it was untrue that the President of the Republic of Croatia had requested the resignation of Stjepan Mesic, the chairman of the Croatian Parliament.
