FOUR-TRUCK CONVOY HELD UP AT BUSOVACA

VITEZ, Jan 2 (Hina) - A four-truck convoy, bound for Zenica and Sarajevo, was held up at a Croatian Defence Council (HVO) checkpoint at Busovaca, central Bosnia, on Dec 31, said local police on Sunday. Chief of the Busovaca police department Slavko Katava said the convoy's French, Luxembourg and Italian personnel had claimed the convoy was sponsored by the Harmony International relief agency, but could not produce any documents to prove it. The police thoroughly searched the trucks and found that they contained 129 packages addressed to Moslem citizens and B-H Army commands in Zenica and Sarajevo, as well as a minor quantity of medicines and medical supplies. As parcels for Bosnian army officers and private citizens could not be treated as humanitarian aid, the Busovaca police detained all the packages and one of the trucks without license plates. The other trucks with medical supplies were granted passage on January 1 and continued their journey to Zenica, said Katava. 021654 MET jan 94
