ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman laid a
wreath on the Altar of Homeland at Medvedgrad on Tuesday to mark
Statehood Day and fifth anniversary of the independent Croatian
Republic.
The wreath-laying was attended by Croatian senior officials,
Diplomatic and Consular Corps members, accredited in Croatia, the
dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Apostolic Nuncio Giulio Einaudi, and
US, Russian, Chinese, German, British and French Ambassadors, Peter
Galbraith, Leonid Kerestedzhiyants, Xie Xiqin, Horst Weisel, Gavin
Hewitt and Jean-Jacques Gaillarde respectively.
After the wreath-lying President Tudjman put in the book of
impressions that today on the fifth anniversary of the
establishment of the independent, sovereign and democratic state of
Croatia he in capacity of the Croatian President laid the wreath on
the Altar of Homeland in honour of all who had lived and died for
achieving Croatian freedom in the sovereign Croatian state.
Delegations of Croatian Parliament, Government, Defence
Ministry, the Croatian Army headquarters, and Interior Ministry
also laid wreaths on the Altar of Homeland.
