PARLIAMENT TO CONSIDER HOW TO HELP CROATS IN BANJALUKA, ILOK, SARE

SARE $ NGRAD ZAGREB, May 24 (Hina) - In this afternoon's continuation of the Croatian Parliament House of Representatives' 25th session, a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Vladimir Seks, proposed that the Parliament consider the latest tragic events as regards genocide over Croats in Banja Luka area, northwestern Bosnia, as well as the plight of the remaining Croats and non-Serb residents in the occupied Croatian regions of Ilok, Sarengrad and Lovas, eastern Croatia. Seks proposed that the heads of parties' benches at the House of Representatives meet tomorrow and draft a declaration in which the Croatian Parliament should raise its voice and demand from the world to stop genocide. Supporting the proposal, a member of the Croatian Social and Liberal Party (HSLS), Drazen Budisa, suggested that the declaration be extended by a report on the plight of Croats in occupied Drnis and Knin, southern Croatia. Budisa said only 250 Croats remained in the occupied parts of the Drnis municipality, and in Knin there were 150 of them. The remaining Croats were being exposed to abuse and threats, he added. Afterwards the House of Representatives continued discussion on the draft bill for amendments to the act on the flats purchase. (hina) mms 241642 MET may 95
