SARAJEVO, May 24 (Hina) - Two people, including a 20-month-old
baby, were killed and seven were wounded in this morning's Serb
artillery attacks on downtown Sarajevo, the Bosnian army 1st corps
said.
Also this morning, the Serbs opened small-arms fire at UN
peace-keepers manning an observation post in the Vogosca
neighbourhood in northern Sarajevo, the same source said.
The Bosnian Defence Ministry issued a statement warning
Sarajevans to take very seriously the nuclear-chemical-biological
alert that was sounded a little before noon, when Serbs launched
several poison-gas projectiles on the city.
UN sources could not confirm reports of chemical warfare.
