SEPAROVIC TALKS WITH BISHOP KOMARICA ON THE PHONE

ZAGREB, May 23 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Victimological Society, Zvonimir Separovic, talked with Banja Luka Bishop Msgr. Franjo Komarica on the phone on Monday, when he visited Graz. After his returning to Zagreb Saparovic said Bishop Komarica emphasized that Croatian population in the Banja Luka area, Serb- occupied northwestern Bosnia, was facing annihilation. "We are left at the mercy. People are bewildered, exhausted. We wonder what about the human rights," Bishop Komarica told Separovic. Speaking about humanitarian workers Bishop Komarica asks for whom they care and why they have not come to see Croats in Banja Luka. Bishop Komarica added that all people in the area were suffering. They had been destroyed as human beings. He also appealed on humanitarian workers to travel to Banja Luka and meet Croats. "I have raised my voice for others. Now I request help for my people in jeopardy. Our neighbours cannot be happy even if there are none of us here," Bishop Komarica told Separovic on the phone. Asked about his hunger strike Komarica replied that he was not important but that by such a move he wanted to show how great plight is of Croats in the Banja Luka area. Separovic sent an appeal to the international community for the saving of remaining Croats in Banja Luka. He called on the UN human rights special rapporteur for the former Yugoslavia, Tadeusz Mazowiecki, to travel to Banja Luka. He also requested Alois Mock to help. While staying in Graz Separovic met the head of Austrian Bishops Conference Msgr. Johan Weber and asked him for assistance as regards Croats' plight in northwestern Bosnia.
