SERBS FIRE MORTAR SHELLS ON SARAJEVO

SARAJEVO, May 21 (Hina) - Serbs began to attack defence positions of the Bosnian Army on the slopes of Mount Trebevic that overlooks Sarajevo, this afternoon. A dozen shells landed at the Bosnian Army positions on Debelo Brdo. The Bosnian Army 1st corps said that Serbs fired mortar shells at the area in question. The Sarajevo downtown was exposed to Serb sniping fire all the morning. Serbs also opened machine-gun fire at an area around the high economy school in the Novo Sarajevo municipality. The positions held by Bosnian Army troops on Mount Treskavica, some 20 kms south of Sarajevo, were exposed to continual Serb assaults.
