ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - Bosnian army 5th corps troops were
systematically torching Serb houses in the Bosanska Krupa area
(western Bosnia) as part of the offensive on the eastern and
southern Bihac fronts, the UN in Zagreb said today.
In a successful offensive launched several days ago, Bosnian
army forces liberated the village of Ripac (10 km south of Bihac,
on the Bosnian-Croatian border).
According to the UN relief agency (UNHCR) spokesperson Alemka
Lisinski, some 3,800 Serbs, who fled the fighting, have so far
reached Petrovac and Drvar (about 50 km south of Bihac).
UNHCR yesterday dispatched a relief aid shipment including 20
tonnes of food, hygienic supplies and mattresses for Serb refugees,
Lisinski said.
