ONE KILLED, FIVE WOUNDED ON SARAJEVO MARKET PLACE

SARAJEVO, May 18 (Hina) - One person was killed and five wounded by a shell landing at a market place in Sarajevo western residential district of Alipasino Polje, the Press center of the Bosnian army 1st Corps said today. Though a general alert in the city has been in effect for three days now, there were still some pedestrians on the streets, risking to become victims of sudden attacks at the civilian targets. Bosnian army 1st Corps said that Serb forces had launched the attack earlier in the morning, firing mortar shells at the government positions on the northern edge of the siege circle.
