OSIJEK, May 17 (Hina) - Serb paramilitary troops, situated in the
occupied village of Tenja, opened fire from anti-aircraft cannons
at a UN helicopter between 15:45 and 15:50 hrs Wednesday, and the
helicopter was forced to land at the Osijek-Cepin airport, eastern
Slavonia, the Osijek-based command of Croatian Army stated today.
The shells which had failed to hit the UN helicopter, fell on
the outskirts of "Jug II", the suburb of Osijek, and caused no
casualties, according to the same sources.
The residents of Osijek have been requested to remain calm.
Today's incident is just one of many provocations made by Serb
paramilitaries, according to the statement.
