SIBENIK, May 10 (Hina) - Few Croats that had remained in the
occupied areas of Knin and Drnis, former Sector South, were exposed
to unbelievable terrorization. following the liberation of western
Slavonia
They were compelled to sleep in groups outside their houses,
in the wood, because of threats and harassment, said a letter of
the Croatian Government Commission for Knin submitted to the
Croatian Government and UNCRO Headquarters in Zagreb.
The commission demanded in the letter that decisive measures
be taken to protect non-Serb civilians in the region.
There were 256 Croats in the Knin municipality and 258 in the
occupied parts of Drnis, according to the commission.
Some of these Croats had signed statements with which they
declare to be ready to leave their homes and go over to the
unoccupied territory, but were not allowed to do so.
