ZAGREB, May 6 (Hina) - President Tudjman today left for London,
where he is to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of
the victory over fascism.
"I have already arranged meetings with some statesmen, which
is particularly important in our situation. These occasions are
never without a certain import, particularly in this case, after
the latest events in Croatia," President Tudjman told reporters at
the airport.
Asked whether Europe had betrayed its ideals fifty years after
the victory over fascism, Tudjman said that fifty years or two
thousand years, Europe and mankind were as they had always been.
"We must be aware that we have to find a solution for
independent Croatia in Europe, such as it is," Tudjman warned.
