SARAJEVO, May 2 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb forces fired eight mortar
shells on Sarajevo this morning. Another shell, landing in central
Sarajevo, did not explode, but lightly wounded a woman.
Kosevo hospital authorities said two civilians had been
wounded by sniper fire.
A general alert was sounded in Sarajevo at 10.00 a.m.
UN monitors have reported a total of 1,225 armed incidents in
the wider area of the city in the last 24 hours.
Two elderly women were killed and a man was wounded by Serb
sniper fire, a UN spokesman said.
Serb forces were still blocking a UN-guarded heavy weapons
depot in the western Sarajevo suburb of Ilidza. UN troops could
neither enter nor leave the depot.
The UN launched an investigation following the Bosnian army's
accusation that a UN French peacekeeper was responsible for killing
a Bosnian soldier. UNPROFOR denied its responsibility.
