ZAGREB, April 14 (Hina) - Leaders of the five major Croatian trade
union federations refused once again the final draft of the Labour
Act, tabled for the next session of the House of Representatives.
"If the bill is passed, we are going to organise a workers'
referendum against it," labour leader Niko Gunjina told a press
conference today.
He said that the unions would continue lobbying among members
of Parliament to vote against the Bill.
"In case we don't succeed, we will organise a parallel union
session during the debate on the bill", Gunjina said.
The five labour leaders called on all Croatian unions to join
them and refuse the draft of the Bill.
The Croatian Government said at a session yesterday it
remained open to comments and suggestions on the Labour Bill so as
to avoid social tensions.
