ZAGREB, Apr 12 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman this
afternoon met Contact Group experts who are on a peace mission to
former Yugoslavia.
"Contact Group representatives informed President Tudjman of
the Group's activities, their talks with President Milosevic in
Belgrade and their unability to travel to Sarajevo. They asked
President Tudjman for his opinion on issues that stood in the way
of the success of Contact Group efforts," the President's public
relations secretary, Joyo Curic, told reporters after the talks.
Michael Steiner of Germany recalled that Contact Group talks
were confidential.
He described talks with President Tudjman as "the usual and
useful exchange of views on how to boost the peace process."
Steiner regretted that he and his colleagues had not been
able to leave for Sarajevo this morning.
But they intended to "leave as soon as possible to inform
the Sarajevo government of talks in Belgrade and Zagreb."
Asked if any progress had been achieved during the Belgrade
talks, Steiner said: "I didn't say that."
