PRISTINA, April 5 (Hina) - Nine ethnic Albanians, former employees
with Kosovo Province police, were brought to the county court in
Pec, Kosovo. They were indicted for establishing an Albanian
parapolice in the Pec county area, and committing a crime of
"threat to territorial integrity of Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia".
Another 14 Albanians were sentenced to a total of 68 years in
prison, under the same charge last year.
Southern Serbia's autonomous province of Kosovo, 90 percent
ethnic Albanian populated, was denied its autonomy by Serbian
President Slobodan Milosevic when he had come to power. Before
Kosovo had had a federal unit's status in the former Yugoslavia.
