ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Ethnic Hungarians in Croatia today marked
a Hungarian national holiday.
The central celebration was held in Zagreb this evening and
was sponsored by the Democratic Union of Croatian Hungarians and
the Hungarian Cultural Society "Ady Endre".
The celebration was addressed by the deputy president of the
Democratic Union of Croatian Hungarians, Laszlo Horvath, the first
adviser at the Hungarian embassy in Zagreb, Imre Varga, and the
chairman of the Human and Minority Rights Committe of the Croatian
Parliament, Ljubomir Antic.
Hungary gained its independence from the Austro-Hungarian
Empire on March 15, 1848.
