ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
today received UNICEF's regional director for Eastern Europe and
Central Asia, Richard Reid, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
The talks focused on the current situation in Croatia and
the progress of negotiations with the international community on
forms of international presence in Croatia after the expiry of
the UN Protection Force mandate.
Granic said Croatia expected support and assistance from the
international community in a bid to reintegrate its occupied
territories in a peaceful manner.
Reid said he was pleased with Croatia's efforts in providing
for refugees and displaced persons, particularly its care for
children from war-affected areas.
Croatia's experience was valuable for activities in other
crisis areas, Reid said, thanking Croatia for its help to the
UNICEF mission in the region.
