U.N. AND NATO MAKE PLANS FOR UNPROFOR'S WITHDRAWAL

WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Hina) - The U.N. and NATO are preparing plans to assist the withdrawal of UNPROFOR from Croatia and Bosnia if necessary, State Department spokesperson, Christine Shelly, said in Washington yesterday. The State Department was still concerned by the decision to cancel the UNPROFOR mandate and the United States was continuing to encourage President Tudjman to rethink his decision. The United States supports UNPROFOR's continued presence in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina as it believed that the UN's exit could reignite a new war between Croatia and Serbia, Shelly said.
