ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Hina) - The status of the Italian minority in
Croatia and Slovenia would be strengthened after it was organized
as an element in each of the two countries, Ambassador to Croatia
Paolo Pensa today told a Croatian-Italian meeting in Zagreb.
Pensa said the status of the Italian minority had been
unstable and had ceased to function as one whole since the collapse
of the former Yugoslavia.
Pensa said this was a transition period during which the
Italian minority was yet to define its position.
