ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - The II regular assembly was held today by
the Novi Zagreb branch of the Association of the Croatian Invalid
Ex-Service Men from the Homeland War (HVIDRA).
The assembly was attended by many guests, senior army officers
and the invalid ex-service man.
The Croatian President's envoy, Brigadier Zvonko Brigljevic,
the commander of the Croatian Army in Zagreb-district, Major
General Ivan Basarac, and a parliamentary members, Drago Krpina,
were also present at the assembly.
In their speeches, the guests stressed that the Republic of
Croatia owed much gratitude to those ex-service men who were
wounded in the war of independence. The State was now assuming a
duty to care about the war invalids and their families and to solve
the problem of the temporarily occupied Croatian areas.
Krpina, the head of the parliamentary Committee for the
Peaceful Reintegration of the Occupied Areas (or UNPAs), called
particularly on Serbs in UNPAs to accept a peaceful settlement and
to give up military option.
