ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received US Undersecretary of Defence Walter B. Slocombe, a
Presidential Office statement said.
Croatian officials present at the talks were Chief of Staff
Hrvoje Sarinic, Defence Minister Gojko Susak, Croatian
Information Service director Miroslav Tudjman, Military Cabinet
chief Lt. Gen. Zvonimir Cervenko and Aide-de-Camp Brigadier
Kresimir Kaspar.
The US delegation included Deputy Assistant Defence
Secretary for Europe and NATO Joseph Kruzel, US Embassy adviser
Ronald Neitzke, Military Attache Col. Richard Herrick and US
Embassy first secretary Stephen Klemp.
Undersecretary Slocombe relayed concern of the US government
about Croatia's decision to end the UNPROFOR mandate.
The talks focused on the situation folowing the decision and
the possibility of international observers monitoring the process
of the peaceful reintegration of temporarily occupied Croatian
areas.
