A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON THURSDAY

ZAGREB, Jan 12 (Hina) - "World Must Know the Truth", is VJESNIK's front page headline covering Croatian President's messages to world leaders. President Tudjman exchanged letters with US President Bill Clinton and sent his envoys to Beijing, Paris, Bonn, Washington, London, Rome, Moscow and Brussels in order to inform world leaders and NATO officials of Croatia's views on the temporarily occupied Croatian areas and the UNPROFOR, the daily said. VJESNIK published a report on yesterday's talks between the Croatian Government's chief negotiator, Hrvoje Sarinic, and a representative of UNPA Serbs, Borislav Mikelic, on the further implementation of the December 2 Economic Agreement. The daily said Sarinic was satisfied with yesterday's negotiations at UN base at Zagreb Airport. Commenting on the negotiations the other daily VECERNJI LIST quoted Sarinic as saying that "we have made a good job". In an article headlined "West Without Strategy" commentator M. Galic said it was difficult to admit but impossible to ignore that force was something that was counted as most important in the world, after all what we could see that had been going on from Vukovar to Sarajevo and now Grozny. VECERNJI LIST carried an interview with Ivan Bender, the speaker of the Herzeg-Bosnian parliament. Bender said he was against such Bosniac-Croat Federation that Bosniacs (Moslems) envisaged and favoured. He adamantly rejected such type of the federation, and expressed his wish that the federation should be developed toward establishing its confederation with Croatia. (hina) mar mms 121230 MET jan 95
