ZAGREB, Jan 10 (Hina) - The association of Croats from northwestern
Bosnia (Serb-occupied area) today presented an open protest letter
in which they said that Serbs did not free the detained Croats,
whom they used as human shields in fighting against the Croatian
Defence Council (HVO).
The letter also read that the Serbs continued ethnic cleansing
of non-Serb population in northwestern Bosnia.
More than 300 Croats were detained and sent by force to the
fronts of Glamoc, Grahovo and Kupres (southwestern) in last
December.
The Serbs were obliged to set release the detained Croats in
line with the four-month cessation of hostilities agreement, but
they had not observed this so far.
The ethnic cleansing of non-Serb people in northwestern Bosnia
was being committed by the self-styled Serb Republic top officials
- and with Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic's approval- its
vice president Radoslav Brdjanjin, justice minister Jovo Rosic, and
other self-proclaimed defence and police officials in the area, the
letter said.
